However, if you are concerned with having to keep fx in a certain order it would be better to just assign 2 buttons on the bcr to cycle through the fx on a selected track, then as each effect pops up you will be able to control it as per your midi assignments. You could quite easily assign midi cc to float fx numer 1/2/3/4/5/6 etc I like the idea of mode 2 and I may incorporate it into my own setup. I can send you the sysex dump from the bcr2000 which has all the encoders set up this way and also with encoder acceleration so there is less twisting. I have the bcr set up to send relative 14bit messages so there is no pot pickup or jumpy values, the rotary basically sees where the current value is and carries on from there, for me this gets rid of the need for midi feedback as I know by looking at the screen :) Go to track, selected track volume, selected track pan Then on the bottom row of encoders I have: I currently use the bcr2000 with a novation nocturn, I have rotaries assigned like thisĮncoder row 2 selected track aux sends 1 - 8 You can change the preset buttons to send midi cc instead of changing the presets quit easily using birdies bcr2000 editor. I have looked into midi feedback and I`m not sure if it`s feasible just yet with the set-up I have in mind. You would need to set the bcr to control only in the midi settings. You could set this up fairly easily with reapers midi learn functions and have the bcr2000 set to only enable when effect configuration is focused. I wouldn't bother with mode 2 as you have 4 sets of encoders at the top anyway You could have set 1 for your eq controls, then set 2 could be volume 1 - 8 and set 3 for pan 1 - 8. Hi Dragonfly, well I just read through your post and I like the idea of mode 1. I'm not a native English speaker and I'm pretty noob when it comes to MIDI, so I might have missed out on a few things. (currently all set to disabled because I read that you can only get control feedback through the control surfaces)Īnd under Control Surfaces I have selected:īCR 2000 (dev 15,17) = (input port 1, output port 1)īut that doesn't do what I want, or should I start using that and can I tweak it to the way I want? (currently it doesn't control anything though)Īny help is greatly appreciated! Because I would love to have my BCR work this way! MIDI outputs: BCR2000 port 1, BCR2000 port 2, BCR2000 port 3 MIDI inputs: BCR2000 port 1, BCR2000 port 2, BCR2000 port 3
I have installed the Behringer BCR2000 MIDI drivers and the latest BCR2000 firmware. Latest Reaper versions (both 32- and 64-bit)
These questions where left unanswered after doing a full sweep off the internet. I want the banks to be inactive in Mode 1, only active in Mode 2. Can I use some LEDS from buttons purely as indicator? (all four lights on = Mode 1, all four lights off = Mode 2 - or something like that) Can I remap the preset buttons to simple 'Mode 1' and 'Mode 2' buttons? Can I set maximum values to a knob to make the control with more secure (for instance, gain set to -15 to +15 instead of -30 to +30) ? Can I prioritize the first / last selected when multiple tracks are selected? Can the BCR get feedback from adjustments made with mouse and from changing to another track!? (only for these plugins, some extra plugins will be done with the mouse) Can I create those plugins in a specific order, or does the order not matter? 'cause I want to keep the knob layout the same for _EVERY_ track. Can I create a plugin whenever I choose to activate it the first time? Because having all those plugins for 32 tracks active would cost a lot of memory. While thinking out this idea some problems came to mind: I don't mind spending time in setting this up, as long as I wont have to 'learn' the controller all the functions everytime I create a new project. But I couldn't find any information about what I'm calling 'Mode 1'.īasically what this mode does is control the FX for pre-set (pre-chosen) plugins without having to open the plugin but simply by selecting the track. Mode 1 - Mode 2 - Now, mode 2 is something that has been done before, I have used the search funtion on here and Google to find a ton of information. To keep you guys interested, here are some images that show what I have in mind: Why? Because my hands are tired of hour-long dragging with the mouse. I recently purchased a Behringer BCR 2000 with a specific purpose in mind: controlling FX for the selected channel.
